Because of the negative environmental impacts of our consumption habits, people are devising new, more sustainable ways to live. This trend is inspired by the sharing economy, in which the right of use is valued more than ownership. Items are loaned and rented. Non-ownership gives a sense of independence and freedom to move and enjoy life here and now.
This is reflected in the new vintage phenomenon: objects, clothing and accessories are reused and passed down from one generation to the next. They are modified and
repurposed. The color of an old object is often worn and faded. These patinated shades are super trendy, especially combined with modern expressions.
